Is Bain's Kloof Pass still passable after the spring rains?

I’m thinking (thanks to some tips from forum members 😉) of taking this route to get to the Cederberg. Apparently, the road was damaged by the May rains, and traffic is still slow there. Has anyone taken this route recently? If not, is one direction (toward or from the Cederberg) more scenic than the other?
