Mahe in Kerala: Is it worth it?

Hi everyone, I’d like to visit Mahe with the goal of seeing the 5 former French trading posts. Is it worth it? I get the feeling that northern Kerala is overlooked by tourists—am I wrong? And why? If you’ve got any great tips for guesthouses or hotels in Mahe, I’m all ears. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
