Harry Wade Road au sud de Death Valley?

Bonjour,

Je recherche des renseignements sur cette route située au sud de la vallée de la mort. Quelqu'un peut-il me dire si cette route est praticable avec un SUV type Jeep Liberty? vaut-elle le coup quand on arrive de Baker ou vaut-il mieux passer par Shoshone?

Bonjour, Sur la carte de DV fournie par le NPS, cette route est en légende en catégorie "4-wheel drive road", donc interdite aux berlines. Donc typiquement ce que les loueurs excluent de leur garantie de contrat ! Pour l'intéret d'y passer, sorry je ne sais !

Harry Wade Road: (32 miles) This rough 4x4 road runs south from Ashford Junction to Highway 127, 30 miles north of Baker. This is the extreme southern entrance to Death Valley. It follows the Amargosa River and provides access to the Avawatz Mountains, Saratoga Springs, the Owlshead Mountains, and the Confidence Mill site. Except for the 12 mile stretch between Highway 127 and the Owl Hole Spring Road, the road is rough: there is deep sand along the way and a river crossing that can be impassible if there is deep water. This is a remote and seldom travelled route -- visitors must be well prepared.

Saratoga Springs, one of the rare wetlands in the desert, is reached from the Harry Wade exit route off Hwy 127. Harry Wade Road is graded and a high clearance vehicle, but not necessarily 4 wheel-drive, is recommended. A variety of birds and other wildlife are attracted to this wetland so remember to take binoculars.

Avec du sable, c'est le genre de route où le 4x4 est nécessaire mais aussi le conducteur avec un minimum d'expérience pour ce genre de terrain !
