I'm heading to Cape Verde in July and I'd like some practical info: Are boat connections between the islands easy? Should we book tickets in advance? There are three of us women—are there any safety concerns?
Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi there, no security issues in Cape Verde—you can travel with peace of mind. July and August are the liveliest times of the year.
For ferry crossings, it’s already tricky once you’re there, so good luck trying from France!!!
But last year, a company set up a weekly route: departure from Santiago, arrival in Santo Antão about 22 hours later, and a daily crossing from Santo Antão to São Vicente (morning and evening) taking about 3/4 of an hour. The boat is called the Tarrafal.
Happy to help with more info if you need it.
Calou.
