Looking for a baker job in Canada

Hi everyone,
I’m Pierre, I’m 19, and I’m looking for a baker position in Canada—could you help me out, please?
I’m really passionate about this trade. I’ve been in it for 3 years now, including 1 year as a qualified worker.
I’ve got a huge thirst for knowledge, whether it’s in my job or discovering the world.
If you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate—I’m not really sure how this works here! :)

Hey Pierre,
Personally, I’m in pastry and studied in Vancouver. I’m about to start an internship as soon as I get my work permit. First off, I hope you realize that everything related to baking (like pastry) is nothing like what we have in Europe. Here, real bread—like the kind we’re used to—is only just starting to appear, and they call it "artisanal bread." Around Quebec, you’ll probably have a better chance of finding good bakeries to work at. From what I know in Vancouver, there’s a chain that makes good bread and is starting to deliver to more small supermarkets—it’s called Terra Breads. Here’s the link:
http://www.terrabreads.com/I don’t know how much you know about coming to work in Canada... you’ll need to find a job, apply for a work permit, and it takes a few weeks to months. Also, I know there are work-holiday programs in France, depending on what you want to do and how long you want to work in Canada!
If you’ve got any other questions, don’t hesitate—I’m maybe not an expert, but I know a thing or two. Good luck with your search.
Julianne

Hey Pierre,
There are quite a few opportunities for someone like you. In my neck of the woods (Mt-Tremblant and Ste-Agathe), several artisanal bakeries are looking for skills like yours. Those skills are rare around here, especially for someone your age.
If you're interested, I can send you the job listings for our area for Baker positions.
Cheers and good luck...

Hi there, I’m looking for a baker job in Canada. I’m really motivated and serious. I earned my CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle) through the Compagnons du Devoir’s Tour de France and worked for 2 years in a renowned bakery (Meilleur Ouvrier de France). Since I’m not sure about the steps to take, any information that could help would be greatly appreciated. If possible, I’d love to get some job offer addresses in Canada. Thanks in advance! 😉😉😉😉

Hi,
My tenant is French and moved here because he got a job at Première Moisson in Dorion (west of Montreal). I checked their website, and it looks like they're still hiring bakers—here’s the link: here.
That’s all I can do to help! Good luck!

Hi,
I’m interested in a baker position abroad. My concern is that I don’t really speak English (I only have basic knowledge). Is it necessary to have a good level of English to work abroad?

Hello Michel, while browsing online job offers, I came across your post—or rather, the reply you gave to thileq. So, I’m interested in a baker position in Quebec if the salary is reasonable. Let me introduce myself: my name is Dato Jean-Michel, I’m 50 years old, and I’ve been working in this trade since I was 15. I currently have a good position with a very good salary, but I’d like to try something new since I’ve been with this company for 8 years and I’m starting to feel a bit bored. I’m a qualified baker, and I also know how to make viennoiseries and pastries. I’m open to any offers if there’s a baker position available. Here’s my phone number: 09.81.63.47.88 or 06.50.27.67.85, or you can reach me at my email: jm.dato@bbox.fr. Hoping to hear from you, I send you my best regards,

Hi Michel,
I’m Damien, I’m 27 and I’ve been working in baking and pastry for 11 years. I’m a certified baker-pastry chef, and my references include being the 4th apprentice in Saône-et-Loire and the best apprentice in Allier. For the past 4 years, I’ve been doing two jobs: baker in the winter and agricultural driver (from seeding to combine harvester operator). Right now, I’m working in Alberta, Canada, and starting in October, I’ll be heading back to Quebec to try to find a baker job. If you have any contacts or job offers, please get in touch!
Best regards,

HELLO MICHEL. ARE YOU STILL LOOKING FOR A BAKER? I'M FRENCH AND MY NAME IS RODOLPHE.
As long as you have a work visa, I think it's pretty easy to find a baker job here...
Just show up at a Metro or IGA supermarket—they bake their own bread.
http://www.metro.ca/corpo/carrieres/qui-sommes-nous.fr.htmlOtherwise, in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood, there are tons of bakeries.
In English Canada, it's the same, but you still need to speak a little English.
For example, there’s the Safeway chain, and Tim Hortons hires very often (We Hire).

Hello everyone,
I own an artisanal bakery called Le Croissant Doré. We're located in Jonquière, Quebec, in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, and we URGENTLY need a baker.
We make all kinds of bread (Belgian, baguette, white, multigrain, etc.), pastries, croissants, and more.
We're looking for someone independent with experience in bread-making who knows how to work with the related equipment (kneading machine, oven, etc.).
Possibility of offering lodging and salary negotiation.

Hi there,
I’m currently a baker in London, but at the end of July I don’t want to renew my contract so I can move to Canada. I have my vocational diploma (BEP) and professional baccalaureate in the field. I can work completely independently. There’ll be a short adjustment period since here I don’t make many French baguettes—just sourdough, seeded loaves, flavored breads, viennoiseries, and a bit of traditional bread. I do my whole shift without machines, just a small deck oven, spiral mixer, and a small planetary mixer (I really miss a proper deck oven and an oblique-axis dough mixer like in France). But I learn fast. Any hours work for me—right now I’m doing 1 AM to 10 AM, but it really doesn’t matter, and I’m fine working Sundays.
If you know anyone who’s interested, I’d love to hear from them.
Thanks.

Hi Normand,
I’ve been a Cameroonian baker for over 10 years now, and I’m 31. I’d love to know if it’s possible to find job offers like that in your country.
Thanks,
