Renting a 125cc motorcycle in Dakar

Hi everyone. I’m looking to rent a 125cc motorcycle for about ten days in Dakar. This topic was covered a year ago, and the responses weren’t exactly great. Maybe there’s something new since then...?

Thanks in advance for any tips on this rental! Skyfred

PS (Vulvio, if you see this discussion, just know your clip in Sierra Leone with Psquare’s "Danger" as the background music is still a little masterpiece I rewatch on loop almost every day!!!)

Thanks so much for your help. Can you give me more details, specifically about reliability / maintenance of the motorcycles. Are the guys fair and honest with the prices they charge? Thanks

The only issue I see is that the smallest cylinder they had was a Yamaha XT 600. Their bikes were more enduro and cross bikes suited for long trips. The trip I took was seven days. We were in a group, and it was a really enriching experience. The owner is a Spaniard whose wife is Senegalese and a motorcycle enthusiast—definitely chatty but super nice. The trip included a mechanic, a support 4x4, and spare bikes that followed us everywhere. So, I think the price was pretty reasonable.
