Weather in Costa Adeje in early April (Tenerife)

Hi there, We're heading to Costa Adeje (more precisely Playa de la Arena) from April 6th to 13th. Opinions on the weather vary a lot. Some say it’s rainy and chilly... others claim it’s sunny with 25°C?? Could you share your experiences?

Both of you could be right—the Canary Islands do have a temperate climate, but you can have gorgeous weather with temperatures around 25°C even in January, or gloomy weather in April/May. Still, the coolness is relative; I’d be very surprised if it dropped below 20°C. Enjoy your trip—it’ll definitely be better than in our flat country anyway! Do pack a light sweater, though, especially if you head up to Teide, which you absolutely shouldn’t miss. Just a quick note: Playa de la Arena isn’t part of Costa Adeje and is further west, near Los Gigantes.

Hi Valérie, I can confirm that in April you’ll definitely have great temperatures around 25°C, though there might be a bit of rain at that time. But it’ll be quickly swept away by the ever-present wind on the island. And just to finish, Playa de la Arena is indeed near Los Gigantes, between Puerto Santiago and Alcalá. That’s not a bad thing—it’ll give you a chance to take a boat trip to Los Gigantes to admire the towering cliffs and dolphins. Have a great stay! JF
