Tintin T-shirt: only in Brussels?

Stratele52 · 2018-08-14

Hi, For an upcoming trip to Belgium, I’d like to buy a Tintin T-shirt I saw on the Tintin online store—their physical shop is in Brussels.

Do you know if there are other Tintin shops elsewhere in Belgium? Or any retailers that carry these T-shirts? I couldn’t find anything on Google.

Thanks

Hi Louis,

For kids, the brand is sometimes sold elsewhere, but for adults, it's rarer. In Brussels, there are 2 shops. They don’t have all the products.

I found this link.

They sell T-shirts at the shop near the Grand Place. Best, Véro

Hi there,

You can find all the Tintin T-shirts you want—authentic, almost authentic, fake, or super fake—on tons of websites, and they’re not necessarily more expensive than in stores. Often, they’re even cheaper!

Thanks for the suggestion—I already knew about it, but I’ve got a very specific request from a friend. He knows about it too, by the way.

Tintin Shop in Belgium or nothing.

A passionate Tintin fan, I get it—no debate needed!

In that case, your best bet is the shop in Brussels near the Grand-Place. Given its location right in the heart of the city, it has the most customers, and if they don’t have everything, they’ve got almost everything.

There’s also the Hergé Museum shop in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Watch out! These shops are enough to drive any Tintin fan crazy. There are so many temptations that your wallet won’t escape unscathed! 🙂

Oh, that's excellent info, Louvain-la-Neuve.

I didn’t know about this place, and I wasn’t planning to go to Brussels at first—that’s why I was having trouble finding a Tintin T-shirt. Just saw that it’s the Hergé Museum, and it’s on my way to Bastogne.

Thanks, you’re awesome.

Having visited it (I'm a Tintinophile too!), I can tell you it's worth it. From the outside, the building looks a bit... weird (it's modern architecture—you either love it or hate it!), but the inside is really well laid out. There’s also a café-restaurant in the museum, but unfortunately, they don’t serve slaszeck... or pitchers of szprädj! 😉

they don’t serve slaszeck there... or carafes of szprädj! 😉

I’m not familiar with that—I’ll check with Google. Ah, yes, in Tintin! I have the collection, but I’m not a Tintinophile. I’ll stop by, but it’ll be at the very end of my trip, I think

The slaszeck and the sprädj come from the album "King Ottokar's Sceptre," where Tintin travels through the beautiful kingdom of Syldavia.

The Syldavians have some pretty unique eating habits: slaszeck is roast leg of young dog in Syldavian sauce (Yep! 😛). As for sprädj, no one’s quite sure what it is—it’s apparently a type of wine, but Syldavians are mainly mineral water drinkers (much to Captain Haddock’s despair 😉 !)

Well, it was about time! 15 years for T-shirts—that’s almost slow-maturing haute couture 😄 Joking aside, it’s really cool to finally see some concrete products, especially when they’re designed with the community in mind. The simple and practical side is exactly what’s needed—no frills necessary when the message is strong. Curious to see what you’ve got planned beyond T-shirts, though! And since we’re talking about eye-catching T-shirts, I personally caved and got a Ricard T-shirt recently. A Marseille classic—sunshine guaranteed every time I wear it ☀️
