Short trip to Poland
LoveAsia89 · 2018-08-20
Hi there,
A friend and I are heading to Poland for 9–12 days at the end of the week. We’ll be landing at Kraków Airport. After that, it’s a blank slate with backpacks.
Do you have any suggestions for an itinerary that stays fairly close to Kraków to avoid wasting time on transport? And any great tips for guesthouses/hotels that are as budget-friendly as possible (or the best value for money)? We want to sightsee, party, and maybe hit the beach (probably around Gdańsk?).
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Kraków to Gdańsk is nearly 600 km...
In that case, you wouldn’t be staying around Kraków.

Gdańsk to finish. (We're heading to Russia after.) Sorry I didn't specify earlier

Hi LoveAsia89,
From Kraków: visit the magnificent Wieliczka Salt Mine...
From Kraków by train: go to Warsaw, visit Warsaw
And also from Kraków by bus: visit Auschwitz-Birkenau
Have a good evening,
Dominique

Hi,
For "party vibes," head to the former Jewish quarter of Kraków, which has now become... the bar district! => CLICK ! 🙂
While there are bars in Warsaw, I found the atmosphere way less friendly in the capital—it’s more of a city for professionals and civil servants than students... 😐

Good evening. I got a message from VoyageForum, so I came back to check my old posts I hadn’t been here for at least 5 years. A big thank you for your replies (with a *very* slight delay) 😛 Small misadventure in Warsaw, where we got hustled outside a bar (pretty beat up) and ended up in a club, the Minus Club. I’ll spare you the details, but RUN if you ever come across this place.
