Barcelona with kids

Hi, I’m spending a week in Barcelona in March with two kids aged 10 and 13. Which neighborhood would you recommend for renting an apartment? If you’ve got any great tips or tested apartments, I’d love to hear them! Thanks in advance

Since we go to Barcelona regularly in the summer, we’ve already tried out several places to stay in different neighborhoods. I’ve detailed these great spots if you need recommendations.

I really love the Gothic Quarter—it’s full of charm, but prices can be pretty steep depending on the time of year.

There’s also the El Born neighborhood, which is super trendy with lots of bars. It’s quite the hotspot.

With kids, don’t forget to visit Tibidabo Park—amazing views over all of Barcelona, plus a century-old "vintage" amusement park with affordable rides at 2 € per ticket.

Hi there, my husband and I just spent 15 days in Barcelona and stayed at the Travelodge hotel in the Poblenou district. We were 100 meters from the lively Rambla de Poblenou in the evenings, with lots of restaurants, and not far from the beach (a 10-minute walk). We were also 5-10 minutes away from two metro stations, Lacuna and Poblenou, which take you to the city center very quickly. The Gothic Quarter is very crowded—it can be tough to navigate at certain times. Don’t forget to book tickets online in advance to see the inside of the Sagrada Familia. If we were to come back, with or without little ones, we’d definitely choose POBLENOU again. Have a great trip!

Don’t forget the Parc Güell with kids—I never got to play there during my childhood!

Hi there! Based on my family experience, the Gràcia neighborhood is perfect for its friendly and welcoming vibe, and it fits a tight budget. The Poblenou district is also ideal, especially with kids or teens—they’ll love Bogatell Beach for grabbing an ice cream and playing volleyball.
