Agency for a tour to Yaxchilan and Bonampak from Palenque

We’d like to do a tour to Yaxchilan and Bonampak from Palenque, but it seems there are tons of travel agencies offering this tour. We’ve also read about a lot of disappointments... any recommendations?

Hi there,

I chose a small agency just to the left when you exit the Palenque bus station. They offer several excursions at reasonable prices. I spent two days with this agency.

The only downside: I’d left some small items (aspirin, hair ties, etc.) in the outer pockets of my backpack, and during the second day, when we made several vehicle transfers and our bags were handled by multiple people between Yaxchilan and Bonampak, those items disappeared. I’m not blaming the agency, but do make sure to lock your bags and don’t leave anything in the side pockets ;)

By any chance... Do you remember the name of the agency?! Or has anyone had a similar experience more recently? Get Your Guide isn’t always reliable—what’s the latest word? I’ve heard the area isn’t safe again. Anyone have any info? Thanks in advance! Sylvie
