Affordable accommodation in Rome

I’ll be in Rome on May 31st and June 1st, and before then, I’d love to find an affordable place to stay for the night before my cruise on the Koningsdam on June 1st.

Not Airbnb, but I’ve also heard you can sleep at the Vatican. As for couch surfing, I’ll check that out.

Near the Vatican? I have no idea at all.

What I do know is that you can stay in religious congregations. I checked the prices: they're like hotels.

At the hotel. RNB requires a minimum of 3 nights

?? In ? Because I’ve rented Airbnbs for less than three nights (not in Rome)... I think it depends on the owners...

All the rentals I’ve seen in Rome during the summer season—April to September—require a minimum of three days. Maybe I just had bad luck with the rentals, but sometimes it’s even four days. Anyway, for us, we’re going for five nights

It's possible, I'm not saying it isn't. High season, very touristy city... I'd check Paris just out of curiosity.

The best solution for just one night is still youth hostels. Depending on the owners, Airbnbs are often only available for rent with a minimum of several days. But for a single night, I don’t think you need all the amenities you’d look for in a full apartment, right?
