Driving to Amsterdam but staying outside the city!

I’m planning a little family road trip with a teen to the Benelux region during the third week of August, including a stop in Amsterdam—arriving from the south and leaving to the north. Driving into Amsterdam is fine, but parking in the city itself doesn’t seem like a great idea, so I’m looking for EITHER accommodation in a nice suburb of Amsterdam where I can park easily without it costing an arm and a leg, but still on the metro line, OR somewhere in a small town nearby that’s easily accessible by train from Amsterdam—max 30 minutes away. I’m planning to spend a maximum of 2 days and 3 nights there. I’m aiming for between 100 € and 150 € per night, with or without breakfast. Any suggestions? I’m all ears! Thanks.

Hi there, A few years ago, I traveled around the Netherlands and stayed in trekkershuts—maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for there? They’re little wooden bungalows in campgrounds, and depending on the location, you can easily get to Amsterdam by public transport.
