Can you tell me if you're satisfied with the services provided by Dentist Miguel at Club Amigo in Holguin? I'd like to go there in mid-December. Is it worth the trip to get dental prosthetics done? Thanks for getting back to me... Michelle from Quebec

Good evening,

I just saw your question about dental care with Dr. Miguel. I got a dental prosthesis for 3 missing teeth in March 2019 and I’m satisfied. He also did some reconstruction on a few damaged teeth instead of crowns because he doesn’t do those. It’ll last as long as it lasts, and it’s really affordable. If I’d had it done here in Quebec, it would’ve cost me around $3,000 or more—I couldn’t afford that. It cost me 325 Canadian dollars.

Anyway, I hope you have a great trip—enjoy the good times!

Hi Louise

Are Miguel’s reconstructions from a year ago still holding up?

Do you need to be there for 2 weeks?

Hi Jean,

The reconstructions are still holding up, and the prosthesis is also very good.

The only thing I’d add is not to expect the same atmosphere and comfort as here in Quebec. Otherwise, the work is well done, and Dr. Miguel knows what he’s doing—he’s also very kind. He speaks English too.

Hope this answers your questions.

Oops! I don’t think 2 weeks are necessary. Everything was done in 4 days (3 appointments with him). There you go!

Thanks Louise

I’ll book an appointment to see Dr. Miguel—the reviews are really good. The clinic in Havana seems more modern and comprehensive, but I haven’t found any reviews for it yet.

good luck trying to feed a party committee: you’d just be throwing your money away; no guarantee for the work

Hi Michel,

Are you just back from Cuba? Have you had any bad experiences there?

Do you think it’s guaranteed here? If the work was done months ago... good luck with the warranty...

I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about dental care in Cuba, and I’ll see for myself. Obviously, it’d be different for heart surgery... plus, it’s free here, unlike the dentist mafia that charges us an arm and a leg for anything. And they all stick together—the prices are inflated everywhere...

I’d rather support a communist party that feeds its people than feed millionaire dentists here who charge outrageous rates. They couldn’t care less about you if you don’t have dental insurance or a big income to pay their hefty fees...

I have 6 teeth to get done. Even if I have to go back in a year to redo 3 of them, it’d still cost me 75% less than here... And on top of that, it’s a sunny vacation for me...

Jean) I see you don’t know much about Cuba. To answer a stupid question like that: (( How many trips have you taken to Cuba? ))

I’d rather support a communist party that feeds its people.

I forgot—all-inclusive trips, I assume😇

You must really like paying a lot. I guess you love that big orange in the south. Keep your negative comments without any experience to yourself.

My dear friend, I’ve been going to Cuba for 20 years. Yes, I know it very well, and I’m aware that the country is struggling, and so are the people. I haven’t visited the touristy spots, but I know a lot of people there and am very up-to-date on the political and economic situation.

Miguel in Guardalavaca is an excellent dentist and in a league of his own.
