Hi everyone,
We traveled to Norway in the summer of 2025, from July 17th to 29th, to visit Senja Island and the Lofoten archipelago with a rental car. The main theme of these twelve days was clearly hiking, along with a few visits and experiences, and nights spent in a tent or in the car (which made it possible).

As mentioned in the title, a travel journal focused on St. Lucia and iSimangaliso ("this place is miraculous" = Zulu translation) over various stays spanning about twenty years.
We’re heading to Costa Rica together—a Central American destination that’s a dream for many French travelers and attracts crowds from France.
As we’ve said many times, 10 days is pretty short for Brazil! But it’s still enough for a “little introduction.” My very recent experience (April 2025) with a 2½-week itinerary might give you some ideas.
15 days between Gran Canaria, El Hierro, and a dash of Tenerife under the sign of storm Thérèse!

The deep worries from the day before quickly faded after the first few kilometers, starting from Vézelay. With, as always at the beginning of a long-distance hike, that strange feeling of being like a child learning to walk.
Hey everyone! We see some amazing plans—and also posts that go unanswered despite being for pretty popular destinations. We want to liven things up to help you travel more often with travel buddies and in total safety. Let us know what you're missing!
Mid-June, two Auvergnats on the starting blocks—it’s the big departure for the former Yugoslavia!
We’d already visited a few spots and hidden gems in northern Croatia back in 2019
, and we’re keeping the momentum going by planning a trip to the south of the country and then Montenegro.
On the way back, we’ll drift into Bosnia-Herzegovina just to mix things up a bit!

So, I’m diving into the short story of our all-too-brief trip to Iceland at the end of April 2024. And even if it’s not the done thing, I’m gonna spoil it and start with the conclusion: it was amazing!!!
After the summer of 2022 left me with a sense of unfinished business, here I am back in Swedish Lapland for the summer of 2024, ready to attempt the Sarek crossing again—and this time, to tackle part of the Kungsleden as well.
On this forum, I shared my first trip to Tunisia from mid-February to early March (voyageforum.com/...en-direct-d11460662/
), a trip I enjoyed so much that six weeks later, I’m back in Tunisia for a full 15 days.
Here’s my account of our trip to Thailand with my partner from November 22 to December 5, 2025.

It’s thanks to the tips I gathered on this site that I planned the trip.
The last travel journal about Turkmenistan was from 2019. So here’s a quick update on this vast desert country, which is now a bit easier to visit than before.
In 5 days, I saw 2 Hongkongers, a few Germans, and a Chilean at the crater, 10 Chinese people in a capital bazaar, and that’s it!

We’ve read it all about Bali: mass tourism, non-stop parties, ferry disasters, the kingdom of “Instagrammers,” pollution, “Bali belly”... But luckily, this island isn’t just about Kuta’s beaches and the Lempuyang Temple.
Hi everyone,
There aren’t many recent trip reports about Norway in winter, and since I had trouble finding info on winter hikes, I thought I’d share a little travel journal.

Recap of 3 little weeks in the Azores in August 2024 camping (Terceira, Flores/Corvo, São Miguel), with a special focus on the camping part—I had a hard time finding info on that before I left.
I’m strolling along the ghats and taking a shared rickshaw with a family to Vrindavan, a city of temples dedicated to Krishna. I visit several of them while wandering through the lively streets amid a crowd of devotees.
We spent 21 nights there and covered a 3,400 km loop by car and 160 km on foot (we’re still trying to hike as long as we’re in shape) starting from Denver in September 2024. Our goal with this road trip was to explore Colorado a bit more—we’d stayed there for 6 nights in 2019—and especially to see it during the arrival of autumn and the changing colors of the leaves in the mountains.
After a pretty disastrous weather-wise stay in Gran Canaria, we’re hoping this time the sun will show up in Puglia.
It’s not a sure thing since the weather’s been pretty rough across Europe in early May.
Okay, Palermo—we know it. We go there to marvel at the architectural wonders born from the Arab-Norman-Byzantine-Gothic blend. And rightly so. We also go to treat our taste buds to all sorts of delights, both savory and sweet. Rightly so, too.

Since no travel journal has been posted about this destination since 2020, I’m giving it a go—maybe it’ll jog some memories for a few or give others some ideas.
The years go by and Machu Picchu has been on our "to-do list" for a few decades now... But Peru, fortunately, is so much more than just this legendary site... The two of us set off for a 15-day trip.
Not usually a fan of organized trips, during my stop in Labuan Bajo on Flores in May 2024, I started looking for a fisherman who could show me the islands around Komodo. At the port, I met Ari, a former spearfisher who knows the islands well—especially the best spots for fish and coral.
The plan: adventure (sporty activities, site visits), naps on the beach interspersed with swims, incredible natural sites, and a bit of culture.
And here we are at the end of September 2024. Another trip focused on arches—I never get tired of them.
Every time I check one off my list, another gets added. Often it's a photo I've seen online or in the NABS (Natural Arches and Bridges Association) magazine, which I'm a member of. I also scour the WAD (World Arches Database) and make a list of arches I want to visit. Fewer and fewer "viewpoints" now—I've done all the most famous ones, and unless the sky is amazing, the photos start to look the same. Since my goal is still photography, in addition to hiking.
When you're prepping for a trek in Scotland, the Norwegian fjords, or the Icelandic highlands, you often spend hours hunting for the best jacket. It’s a logical reflex, but once you're out there, you quickly realize your upper body isn’t the whole story.
I just got back from a trip to Morocco and I want to share my experience of the few days I spent in the Happy Valley (it’s also called the Ait Bouguemez Valley—same place!)
I’d contacted my guide Youssef, whose info I found here on VoyageForum.
