Rome: feedback on my 7-day itinerary
Hi everyone,
After much deliberation, we booked the Vatican museums entry at 9:00 AM (8:00 AM wasn’t possible) on the official Vatican website with skip-the-line access for 25 € per person, and on Tiquets, a reserved entry with an audioguide for St. Peter’s Basilica at 2:00 PM for 14.50 € per person. Even though access is free, I think there’s a maximum capacity inside the basilica. After that, we plan to climb the Dome—is it a good idea to pay on-site in cash?
Thanks again for all your valuable tips.
Rome: thoughts on my 7-day itinerary
Thanks. On that site, it's 74 €. Through the Petit Futé site, they redirected me to Get Your Guide, and it's 33 €!!! St. Peter’s Basilica and Dome: 86 €, even though the basilica is free and the Dome is only 15 €? Where’s the scam? I’m losing my mind. Visiting places is so complicated now—everything has to be done in advance, everything booked!
Rome: feedback on my 7-day itinerary
Hi,
I’m re-asking my question. Do you have the official website address for Vatican museum ticket sales? There are several sites that claim to be official, and the prices vary a lot. Thanks.
Rome: opinions on my 7-day itinerary
Hi, thanks so much! So, I’m wondering if it’s really worth visiting Villa Borghese. I’ll think about it. Have a great day.

Rome: feedback on my 7-day itinerary
Hi,
Thanks for your advice. It's really rare for me to go on an adventure—I need a plan and everything scheduled in advance to feel at ease. That said, once I'm there, we adapt...
And long live Voyage Forum, where there are genuinely nice people—shout-out to everyone who replied! Kénavo.

Rome: Feedback on my 7-day itinerary
Hello,
We’re heading to Rome from 21/09, arriving in the early afternoon, and returning on 28/09, leaving in the morning. We’ve already booked our flight tickets and our accommodation in the city center: Via Ezio.
I’d love to get your feedback on our itinerary and if there are any visits we should book right now:
Monday 21 afternoon:
Largo di Torre Argentina: a sacred spot for cats.
Tuesday 22:
The Vatican: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel in the morning. Afternoon: St. Peter’s Basilica, the dome, and if possible, the necropolis.
Wednesday 23:
Morning: Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Afternoon: Trastevere neighborhood and the Monumento a Garibaldi.
Thursday 24:
Piazza Navona, Church of St. Louis of the French, the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, Trevi Fountain.
Friday 25:
Villa Borghese, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Quirinale, Piazza della Repubblica, and Santa Maria degli Angeli.
Saturday 26:
Aventine and Testaccio neighborhoods, the Capuchin Crypt.
Sunday 27:
Ostia.
Monday 28:
Departure.
Are any days too packed, or should we add more visits?
Thanks for your input and help!
Cheers!
Anne
Which neighborhood to stay in Rome based on my criteria?
We stayed in a hotel near the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. The location was perfect for visiting the Vatican, strolling along the water, and walking to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, etc. So very little bus travel and the chance to be there when the Vatican opened without having to get up super early. The hotel was on a quiet street.
Hi Ticapi, Could you tell me the name of the hotel? Thanks. Anne

A Breton in Brittany
Thanks for your report written with so much humor. However, while your wife tried to look like a *bigoudène* and some rather incongruous *bigoudènes* were on your hotel room door, you didn’t even go visit the *Pays Bigouden*! Oh well, since your in-laws live in Quimper, that’ll be for your next visit—which can’t come soon enough! *Kénavo*
Holiday in Brittany: Pink Granite Coast and Cornwall.
Thanks for your feedback and your lovely photos. Just a small clarification—Cornwall is in England, while *La Cornouaille* is here in Brittany. Off to read your second part. Kénavo! !
Is Brasília worth a visit?
Thanks so much! I’m trying to plan an itinerary—the country is so huge that I’ll have to make some tough choices and skip certain things, especially since this’ll be my only trip to Brazil and my husband can’t get away for a whole month. Plus, for some regions like the Northeast, it’s not quite the right season.
Is Brasília worth a visit?
Thanks so much for your reply. I read your whole travel journal with a smile on my face. Kudos for your impressions and your humor. Anne
Is Brasília worth a visit?
Hi there, I’m not really into architecture, but I’ve always wanted to visit Brasília to see what a modern city built from scratch looks like, and I thought not many people lived there. After doing some research, I realize the city is actually quite crowded. As I’m planning my trip to Brazil, people keep telling me not to go, that I’ll be disappointed and it’s a waste of time.
For those of you who’ve been to Brasília, what do you think? Thanks for your replies. Anne

Off to explore Jordan!
Hi there,
A big thank you for this great time reading about your adventures in Jordan—hilarious, that description of Sandrine’s race to the bathroom (I feel your pain, I’ve had at least two emergencies like that myself) and Swimmer’s interventions. I’d planned a trip to Jordan for the first two weeks of October and had just finalized my itinerary (though I think travel outside France won’t happen this year), so I added a hot-air balloon ride over the Wadi Rum desert—you’re the only one who’s mentioned it (well, an ultralight flight...).
This is the second time I’ve read one of your travel journals. The first was your trip with your brother across three countries, and I’d just gotten back from Chile....
Bravo for your travel journals—it’s a lot of work, especially with humor, and not everyone can pull it off!

Anne
