Travel companion for a catamaran cruise in the Caribbean – April/May 2025
Hi there,
I wanted to get your feedback if you’ve done this before. I’m planning a catamaran cruise as a couple. Right now, I’m looking at departing from Martinique, Fort-de-France. The issue is that I can’t find a catamaran for just two people—it’s only by cabin. That doesn’t bother me too much, but I’d still like a bit of peace and quiet.

I’m looking for a catamaran with, at most, one other couple or renter. But maybe I’m dreaming a bit when it comes to the price.

I think with December coming up, it’ll be quieter there. My sister-in-law has family in Guadeloupe, which let us go three times (at a lower price...).
Honestly, it’s nothing like the reputation you hear. The people are really friendly, but a bit like the Bretons—you have to earn their trust.
Last time, we rented a sailboat (with a skipper) for 3 days. My teens loved it, which isn’t always a given. I’ll try to find the route we took.
