Self-drive in southwestern Uganda, February 2020
Thanks for this cool recap—I’ve got a few questions since we’re heading there at the end of February! We can’t wait!
Do you have any off-the-beaten-path spots to recommend? Specifically, we’re planning to spend a few days around Fort Portal and had noted: Bigodi Wetland, Kasenda Crater Lakes, community walk, Kasese Hot Springs, and Lake Nkuruba.
In the national parks, is the price for 24 hours, meaning the same calendar day, or can it be from noon to noon, for example?
Do you have any recommendations for places where we can hike without a guide?
Here’s our planning: - 22/02: arrival and night in Entebbe - 23/02: drive to Rhino Sanctuary, visit, and sleep there - 24/02-25/02: Murchison Falls NP (2 nights) - 26/02: drive to Kabwoya - 27/02-28/02-01/03: Fort Portal area: Bigodi Wetland, Kasenda Crater Lakes, community walk, Kasese Hot Springs, Lake Nkuruba - 02/03-03/03: Queen Elizabeth NP - 04/03: Rukungiri rafting - 05/03-06/03: Lake Mburo - 08/03: Entebbe, Mabamba Swamp
Thanks!!
