Je voyage avec mon copain depuis quelques temps deja et nous aimerions du Bresil, rejoindre Quito en Equateur. Actuellement nous sommes a Santarem puis nous irons a Manaus et a Tabatinga. De tabatinga je pense qu il nous faudra aller a Iquito. ET alors apres??? J ai vu sur le net qu une personne a fait Iquito Yurimaga en Bateau puis Yurimaga Chyclayo et Quito en bus. Apparemment elle a bien galerer. CAr des bateaux il n y en a pas tout le temps et les bus ne sont pas tres surs.

Est ce que vous connaitriez pas d autres plans ou des conseils pour faire Iquito Quito?

Nous partons du 2 au 23 juillet prochain de Montréal vers Cancun avec nos sacs à dos et voulons visiter les sites Mayas, passer par le chiapas et aller au guatemala puis reprendre l'avion à Cancun, faire une boucle quoi.

Les billets sont réservés (mais non-achetés) mais en lisant toutes les interventions sur le forum, je commence à douter que nous ayont fait le bon choix. Le Yucatan vaut-il la peine à ce point là où sommes-nous mieux de prendre le vol vers guatemalaciudad. Nous voulons aussi se garder quelques jours de plage.

Donc pour 3 semaines de voyage loin des touristes( autant que possible) quel serait le meilleur choix avec un budget de $400.00 canadien chacun par semaine(on est 2) excluant les billets d'avion et voulant voyager par bus ?

Les mayas du Quiché ont repris la guérilla et déterré la machette de guerre.

Au CHiapas le sang et la Téquila coulent à flots....

Je souhaite traverser l'Amazonie, du Nord au Sud puis rejoindre le Pérou en voiture. L'itinéraire prévisionnel est : Brésil : Boa Vista - Manaus - Porto Velho - Cruseiro do sul - Boqueirâo // Frontière Brésil/Pérou // Pérou : Pucallpa ...etc...

Il semblerait que du côté Brésil, la "route" soit à peu près praticable. Par contre, je me suis renseignée auprès de l'ambassade du Pérou, et la spécialiste "état des routes" m'a précisé que courant novembre - décembre, la saison des pluies a bien commencée et que cette "route" risque d'être impraticable.

Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà expérimenté ce parcours en voiture ?

Hi there, I’ll be in Brazil from December 10th to the end of February. I’ve sketched out a rough itinerary but I’m not sure how to arrange it—considering the climate, year-end holidays, and Carnival. Basically, I’m thinking of the Amazon, the Northeast coast with Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (but skipping Chapada Diamantina), Ouro Preto, Paraty, and Ilha Grande—but no Rio visit. Is this doable in 3 months? Which direction should I take for this itinerary? Thanks in advance!

After taking a little trip around the world, I came back a few months ago with an idea in mind.

I mostly do diving, and I love observing animals in their natural habitat without disturbing them.

During the trip, I realized it was quite complicated to know where and when to see certain species.

For example:

where to dive with sharks or manta rays where you might get a chance to swim with whales

I even discovered thresher sharks during my trip… I didn’t even know this species existed before, even though they’re incredible to see.

We spent a ton of time searching for info all over the place, especially on social media, without ever getting a clear picture.

So I started putting all this together on my own, in the form of a map, to make it easier to visualize where to go depending on the seasons.

I recently put a first version online (it’s called Fauneya). There are probably mistakes, inconsistencies, or things to improve, and that’s partly why I’m posting here.

I’d really love to know how you all go about planning this kind of trip.

I’m in the middle of planning a road trip in Southern Africa, and I’m specifically working on the itinerary—especially the distances.

I’ve got the time, but I’m struggling with the transfer days (so much driving just to end up spending the whole day on the road). That’s why I’m trying to analyze travel times, even if it means adding extra stops.

My highlights in Zimbabwe would be: - Hwange - Victoria Falls (and maybe Matusadona) - Mana Pools - Harare - Gonarezhou - Great Zimbabwe

But the distances and travel times seem huge (over 4 hours each time), and I don’t see how to make the drives more chill or shorten them—even if it means adding stops (but which ones?) between each leg.

Would anyone be able to estimate the travel time between these highlights and maybe suggest some nice stops to take breaks?

Day 1 - October 19

When you tell your friends and family you’re itching to escape to the other side of the planet to mingle with the Mongols, you can usually expect a barrage of questionable jokes and terrible puns. For this new adventure, it’s a different destination but the same old story—this time, we’re visiting the "pouilleux" (the "scruffy" ones). We’re taking off straight for Puglia! If you need a cheat sheet to remember where this oddly named place is on a world map, just think of it this way: Puglia is the maiden name on the ID card of the heel of the Italian boot! Personally, I prefer to remember it as the land of creamy burrata, the smell of focaccia fresh from the oven, orecchiette shaped by mamas, golden olive oil that shines like the sun (which beams down here 300 days a year), amaretto that makes you happy, and those famous trulli—those little hobbit-like dry-stone houses straight out of a movie set...

But I’ll stop spoiling the rest of our trip and focus on a factual rundown of this first Puglian day. So, are you joining us on this new adventure beyond our Gallic borders? Either way, Sasha (my youngest) and Luna (Flo’s daughter) didn’t need much convincing to stick with us and keep up the pace!

Our plane drops our little crew in Bari, the site of a famously tragic battle lost in 1991. But revenge is sweet! After renting a motorized carriage, we escape the landing zone and head to our military base of operations: Ostuni, a strategic little town where we’ll set up camp for the next four days. Why Ostuni? First, for its central location, which lets us explore a region packed with must-see gems. Second, for its vibe and beauty, which have earned it quite the reputation. Perched high on a hill, the *città bianca* (the "White City") lives up to its nickname. It literally dazzles visitors. The reason? The whitewashed facades of its houses, a testament to the region’s rich architectural heritage.





We arrived late last night, so only the two bravest soldiers volunteered to scout ahead at dawn, while the younger recruits stayed behind—for now. But not for long! After the first wave of streets and the next round of exploration, headquarters made the inevitable call to retreat. Reinforcements were needed! A few strategic errands, a breakfast ration, and our battalion marched in tight formation, flag held high, to conquer Ostuni the White! *Charge!* In my squadron leader’s memoirs, I’ll write that I didn’t expect Ostuni to put up such a fight. What I thought would take two hours to conquer turned into a humbling experience—we could only bow in respect to its beauty, its relentless charm. The alleys are whiter, more labyrinthine, narrower, and more photogenic than the last. *Veni, vidi, vici*—but what an entrance, my troops!

hi there I’m thinking of heading to northeastern Brazil in January or February—I don’t really have a choice with the dates. Apparently, it rains a lot during that time. Is it really a big issue for traveling? Are these tropical downpours—heavy but brief—or more of a continuous rain? I’m especially curious about the stops in Lençóis, Atins, and Parnaíba. For Lençóis, I know the lagoons are almost empty at this time of year. I’ll also be passing through São Luís, Jericoacoara, Fortaleza, Olinda/Recife, and Salvador da Bahia, and before heading back to Europe, I’ll visit the Iguaçu Falls. What do you think? I’d love to visit Gonarezhou National Park—I see there are two sectors: the Mwenezi Region in the south and the area around the Runde River in the north. Should I cover both sectors or just focus on the northern region? For the parks along the Zambezi River, is it better to visit Mana Pools on the Zimbabwe side or Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side? We’re on a 3-month trip through Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, and then southern Brazil.

We’ve been in Ollantaytambo for 2 days now, right at the gateway to Machu Picchu...

Here are a few tips:

To get to Aguas Calientes, there are 2 options: one by train for at least $70 one-way (2h), with lots of departures throughout the day.

The other is by bus—departure in the morning, check with local agencies starting at 10 € (40 soles). The bus ends at Hidroeléctrica, where you’ll have to walk the last 2 hours... We went with option 2 ;) Leaving tomorrow morning.

PS: There’s a great little "bakery" with good prices near the market (croissants, pizza, bread, etc.).

In the Sacred Valley, I’d recommend spending a night or two in Maras—a quiet village where a nice walk will take you to Moray, then another to the Salineras...

Another really cool route to take with stops for pisco (from San Clemente, where colectivos leave) to Cusco, along stunning high-altitude roads... From Pisco to Ayacucho: 5h, then from Ayacucho to Andahuaylas: 5h. Super big local market on Saturdays/Sundays.

Plan for 6-7 hours to finish the trip to Cusco...

Nous prevoyons avec la campagne un voyage au Mexique fin mars d'une durée de 2 semaines.

Nous hesitons à faire l'ouest (Mexico) puis l'est (yucatan), ou seulement l'est. Nous ne sommes pas de gros globe trotteur avec un rythme plutôt lent (par rapport aux gens du Forum ^^) sans parler de la perte de temps dans un trajet ouest - est mais j'ai peur aussi qu'il y ait trop peu à faire dans l'est pour une dizaine de jours.

Par ailleurs, si vous avez des suggestions d'itineraire dans les 2 cas ça m'interesse !

Nous envisageons un voyage combiné pour visiter le parc kruger et plonger au Mozambique.

J'ai encore quelques hésitations malgré mes recherches sur le forum...

1/ Période Rien n'est encore réservé et j'hésite sur la période : vacances d'été ou vacances de la toussaint

En aout, l'avantage est qu'on peut partir 3 semaines. L'inconvénient, les billets d'avion sont plus chers En octobre, l'avantage c'est que ca permet de profiter du soleil avant l'hiver, on prolonge l'été mais le voyage est limité à 15 jours

Pour m'aider à trancher : quelle est la meilleure période pour la plongée ?

2/ Sites de plongée Nous serons deux adultes (niveau 2) et une ado (open water) A tofo, j'ai cru comprendre que ce sont des profondes. Y a-t-il d'autres choses à voir (snorkeling ?). elle fait du surf, donc elle pourra s'éclater après nos plongées mais si elle peut aussi mettre la tête dans l'eau c'est mieux. Les sites pour voir les raies mantas sont tous profonds ? A Vilanculos, c'est plus adapté pour les open water ?

moi , sans hésitation au Mexique . C'est un pays que j'ai découvert il y a quelques années et j'en suis revenu enchantée. Mexico, Teotehuacan , les villages indiens, les sympathie des mexicains et les site mayas , de grands souvenirs, j'espère pouvoir y retourner un jour pour découvrir un peu plus ce pays qui m'a véritablement fascinée.

Nous avons l’intention de partir au Mexique en décembre, où janvier 2020. La durée du séjour serait comprise entre +-14 et 20 jours Nous aimons les voyages simples , authentiques , riche culturellement et avec un contact régulier avec la vie du pays (marchés, population, fêtes locales..). Précisons, que nous sommes plus jeunes et assez raide (cause accident), mais pleinement autonome.

Pour ceux qui ont eu une bonne expérience du pays et la conviction d'avoir eu un circuit complet et bien équilibré....quel serait le/les circuits conseillés, les lieux événements, choses à "vivre"..à ne pas rater ??
