Hi, I’m taking the Cotisse bus soon to go to Antsohihy, so the route is Tana-Majunga with a stop at Antanambaza. How long does it take to get to Antanambaza? Should I leave at 6:30 PM or 7:00 AM? Considering I’ll probably need to find a hotel while waiting for a *taxi be* to Antsohihy, I’d rather not arrive in the middle of the night. And since I’m asking—does anyone have a hotel recommendation in Antanambaza? Also, can you find a seat on a *taxi be* mid-route?

So, I was in Vietnam at the end of the year and early January, and wanting to lighten my backpack a bit, I sent a package from Hanoi to Barcelona since I was continuing my trip. It cost me an arm and a leg, and unfortunately, it didn’t even reach its destination for some reason I still don’t know, even after asking multiple times. It’s been returned to the Hanoi Post Office, and obviously, I’m nowhere near Vietnam now. Despite efforts on both sides, I feel like I’m having a dialogue of the deaf with the Vietnamese postal service via email, and phone calls are impossible. Is there anyone on the ground who could help me sort this mess out, please?

Or any ideas on how to resolve the situation?

I’m taking a Ryanair flight from France to Portugal (and back) in May. I’d prefer not to bring my passport since we’re leaving for the US in July, and I’d rather not risk losing it (or worse), so I’d like to leave it safely at home!

My ID card expired in July 2022 but should still be valid for 5 years. So it *should* be fine, but if anyone has been in this situation before, I’d love to hear about your experience to put my mind at ease!

Hi, I just read an article announcing the launch of a "tagthai easy pay" app that lets tourists pay with their phone, just like Thais do in shops by scanning the merchant’s QR code. Has anyone got more info? Are there any foreign-exchange fees or other charges? Can you top up this account with a simple transfer from our French bank account, or do you have to use cash? I guess it’s handy for avoiding too much cash while on holiday.

Hi there, I bought a ticket for a flight from Toulouse to Mauritius through the Go to Gate agency. The flight leaves Toulouse with Air France, then has a layover in Paris before continuing to Mauritius with Air Mauritius. Unfortunately, I made a typo in my partner’s name. The travel agency won’t correct it, even though Air Mauritius doesn’t see a problem—but they won’t send an email to authorize the change either. They say it’s up to Go to Gate to handle it. Just so you know, the airline can’t modify the name themselves; according to them, it’s Go to Gate’s responsibility to make the change.

I need to book an SUV in Los Angeles for about 5 weeks, and for various reasons, it’ll be with Hertz. Traditionally, I pick up the vehicle at the airport agency, which I reach by shuttle.

But I’ve noticed that the rate drops by about a third if I pick up the vehicle either at the Marriott hotel at the airport or at the nearby Westin hotel (both hotels are also accessible by shuttle and have a Hertz agency). The selection is probably smaller, and most importantly, I don’t know if these off-site agencies are reliable.

What do you think? Has anyone here had the chance to test them? Thanks in advance!

On August 10 in Havre St. Pierre, I booked the boat "Capitaine Richard" from 9:15 AM to 5:00 PM with a capacity of 10 passengers. We are two and are offering the remaining spots. The price to pay on-site is CAD 120 per person if there are 8 or 10 passengers, and CAD 140 if there are 6 passengers. Drinks and lunch are not included. Capitaine Richard is a very friendly character and has a lot to show us. I think it’ll be a great excursion. I’m offering this first to French-speaking cruisers, but if there aren’t enough, I’ll post on an American site. Back in the good old days when the UK was part of the European Union, a European ID card was all you needed to visit. After Brexit, a passport became required. Now, on top of that, you’ll also have to pay (£10) for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation):

Hi everyone, for my 6th trip to India, I’ve chosen Ladakh and Zanskar. I’m planning a 15-day itinerary with a driver (one week in Ladakh and one week in Zanskar). I’m looking for info and tips from people who’ve recently traveled to these regions—anything that could help me prepare my route, must-see spots (or not!), accommodation advice, etc. Is it necessary to visit all three main lakes usually included in traditional circuits (Tso Moriri, Pangong, and Tso Kar)? In the Nubra Valley, the Hunder dunes with the camels don’t really tempt me given the mixed reviews... What do you think? Big question about altitude sickness—I’ve read that you should take it easy for a full day before hitting the road. Is that enough, or should I plan an extra day? HELLO, here’s a little review of my cruise on the CELEBRITY EQUINOX 9-night / 10-day cruise CONCIERGE CLASS BALCONY CABIN at 1170 € per person EMBARKATION We arrived around 11:30 AM and were taken care of right away. Priority boarding is now only for suites, but it’s not really necessary since everyone boards quickly. In less than 15 minutes, we were on board. The best part? We could head straight to our muster station for the lifeboat drill—done in no time! AZAMARA, if you’re listening : ) Disembarkations at ports were also very smooth, with a little stand offering wet towels and refreshing drinks. THE CABIN CONCIERGE BALCONY 2108 Perfectly located, with a huge balcony, on the same deck as the pools, just below the buffet, and close to the elevators that took us straight to the restaurant or reception. Concierge class doesn’t come with many perks—we only went to the concierge desk once. We got a small plate of canapés in the cabin every day and access to a few invitations we declined, lol. What really stood out was the location and the large balcony. DINING The buffet is always great, with tons of choices—the best buffet of any cruise line, in my opinion, even if PRINCESS isn’t bad either. It was sometimes crowded, but the island layout meant we never had to queue, except for the last two days when we couldn’t serve ourselves due to a GASTRO outbreak... The only downside was the desserts, which weren’t as good as before. Is it the chef? Or a budget cut? The last day’s FAREWELL BUFFET was amazing. At the restaurant, we noticed a drop in quality, especially with the starters—mostly veggies or soup, basically cheap stuff :( . Though the escargots were still available and just as good. Also, we often got the pager because no tables were free, and service was sometimes really slow. We went to the specialty restaurant « LE MURANO » for around $50 per person. The menu is always the same, but it’s still delicious, with attentive service and the chef flambéing the lobster right in front of you. We loved it! THE PORTS OF CALL BARCELONA / AT SEA / LISBON (2 DAYS) / PORTO / AT SEA / TANGIER / CADIZ / AT SEA A great itinerary with 3 sea days in total. We had mostly great weather, even really nice weather during the 3 sea days. It was less sunny and warm in PORTO and CADIZ. We did everything on our own, except for the first day in Lisbon, where we took a guided TUK TUK tour with Filipe—it was AMAZING! He was really interesting, and we learned so many fun facts. Loved it! In PORTO, everything costs money, which was a bit disappointing. The churches and cathedrals are expensive :( TANGIER was a great discovery. Too bad no mosques are open to visitors, but it’s still a pleasant stop. We’d already visited CADIZ and love this city.

ENTERTAINMENT DURING THE DAY It’s always quiet during the day. You can play mini-golf or pétanque on the grass, and we didn’t hesitate to do laps around the deck. Of course, we also enjoyed the fantastic adults-only pool in the solarium, though sometimes we went to the outdoor pools too. This adults-only pool is still incredible—big and heated, except for 2 days when I complained because the water was suddenly cold. I don’t know why! Of course, some parents try to bring their kids in at the start of the cruise, but not on my watch, lol. After 2 or 3 days, they give up—the outdoor pools were well-heated anyway, so there was no reason to. Apparently, some people didn’t know CELEBRITY—they must’ve realized it’s not a cruise line for kids, pff. IN THE EVENING Apart from the comedian, we saw all the shows. Some were really beautiful, others just okay, but overall, it was a success. The dance nights, though, were pretty average, except for the ABBA night, which always delivers.

CONCLUSION CELEBRITY is still a pleasant cruise line, even if the quality has dropped a little. We still love that fabulous heated adults-only pool, the calm atmosphere on board, the few kids, no Italians, and the zen vibe. The ship is showing its age a bit, but nothing major. We had a great cruise with good value for money. Can’t wait for the next one on the CELEBRITY INFINITY in February! Thanks for reading 😉 PS: Some photos to come

D'ici quelques mois je compte partir voyager en Afrique de l'Est en commençant par l'Ouganda. Je pense plutôt aller me perdre sur des petites routes, dans les campagnes et les villages mais je ne sais absolument pas s'il est facile de trouver des hébergements dans ces endroits. J'hésite à embarquer une tente au cas où je ne trouve aucun endroit où dormir. Pensez-vous que ça vaut la peine ? J'aimerai beaucoup faire ce voyage en moto. Savez-vous s'il est facile d'en acheter une ? La police n'est pas trop emmerdante sur ça lorsqu'elle croise des étrangers ?

Je suis en location en octobre entre Loctudy et Guilvinec, le Palud du Cosquer pour être précis et je voulais savoir si l'on peut acheter directement les pêches aux pêcheurs quelque part ? Certes, il y a les marchés, je me renseignerai sur place pour ça, mais des fois que vous connaissiez un endroit proche de Guilvinec ou Loctudy autre qu'une poissonnerie qui ne traite qu'en négoce. Même une petite adresse d'un pêcheur qui a son vivier nous irait amplement. Une semaine de cure de homard, langoustines et autre petits crabes. 😎

L'envie me prend, assez soudaine, de m'essayer aux roadtrip à vélo. Je vis à Paris, et ne suis pas très sportif.

Je souhaiterai pour commencer faire un bête aller / retour jusqu'à la forêt de Fontainebleau avec une nuit de camping sur place. Par la suite, et selon comment je m'en sors, j'aimerai faire les châteaux de la Loire, le canal du midi et d'autres destinations etc (tout le temps en partant de Paris).

Je me met donc à la recherche d'un vélo qui soit adapté à ce type de voyage, mais aussi à mes déplacements quotidiens sur Paris. Si possible dans un budget raisonnable. Est-ce qu'un simple vélo Décathlon est suffisant / fiable? Ou bien y a t-il des sites plus appropriés? Même question pour l'achat d'une tente, de materiel / outil pour le vélo etc.

Je suis ouvert à vos conseils d'achats, de lecture, et vos avis.

Le Tour de France vient de débuter. Evénement sportif très populaire (en France, mais pas seulement), il est une des épreuves cyclistes les plus renommées dans le monde.

Ce n'est pourtant pas le côté sportif qui m'intéresse en créant ce post, mais l'histoire et la géographie de ce beau pays dans lequel je vis. La couverture médiatique et notamment la diffusion à la télévision de cet événement, permettent chaque année, à un grand nombre d'entre nous, de (re)découvrir des régions de France (et/ou de pays voisins) et leur patrimoine.

Dans cette optique, à leur équipe de commentateurs sportifs, certaines chaînes de télévision, intègrent (c'est le cas, par exemple, de France Télévision, depuis de nombreuses années), un chroniqueur dont le rôle est de décrire/commenter/expliquer l'histoire et la géographie des lieux traversés par les coureurs (ou survolés par les hélicoptères).

C'est de ces coins montrés et parfois sublimés par la diffusion du Tour de France que je vous propose de discuter.

Un certain nombre de mes voyages/visites en France ont trouvé, sinon leur origine, du moins une partie de leur contenu, dans des lieux observés/admirés en regardant le tour de France à la télévision. Etes-vous comme moi, intéressés par toutes les images, extérieures à la course, diffusées à la télévision à cette occasion ? (images qu'on pourrait nommer "off course", bien sûr 😛) Vous arrive-t-il de suivre des étapes du tour de France, pour les lieux qu'il traverse, sans forcément être passionné par l'épreuve sportive elle-même ? Avez-vous découvert (ou redécouvert) des coins grâce à la diffusion du TdF ? Avez-vous appris des pans d'histoire ?

Bonjour, J'ai installé un e werk sur mon velo. Il fonctionne car lorsque je branche mon gps en roulant, il indique "en charge". En revanche, ca ne charge pas le gps et j'aurais même tendance a dire que ca le décharge. J'imagine qu'il s'agit d'un mauvais réglage. Est ce que quelqu'un sait comment le régler ? Il est actuellement en 4.2V 0.9A Mon gps est un anima twonav. Merci beaucoup !
