You often hear that Sapa has become too touristy, and that's partly true, especially in the center. But as soon as you move a little farther away, everything changes quickly. The landscapes open up, encounters feel more natural, and you rediscover something truly authentic. I think it's that contrast that struck me—the difference between what you imagine before going and what you actually discover when you take the time. And you—what memory do you hold onto from Vietnam? A particular place that touched you more than others?

Hi, I’m planning a road trip in the Middle Atlas, starting and ending in Fez and heading down to the south of Midelt, the Assoul Massif.... We’ll be traveling with two small 4x4s. I’m looking for detailed maps of this region that include small roads and tracks. Last year, we had a fantastic road trip in the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas using Erfahren maps, but unfortunately, they don’t cover the area we’re interested in this year. Thanks for your suggestions! hi, I'm planning a recumbent bike trip from the Pyrenees to Greece. On the EuroVelo 8 route, it doesn't specify the path through the Alps. Are there any experienced cyclists here who can tell me where they go to avoid climbing too high? Also, is there another traveler/bike forum better suited for broadening the responses? thanks

A big thank you to Lazarou for all the info you share in this forum! I'm passionate about Morocco, which I cycled through back in 2009. Last year, my wife and I explored the High Atlas by tandem. Completely smitten, we're heading back in April (Anti Atlas) and May (High and Middle Atlas), still on our tandem. Do you have any info on the track between Amezri and Ali Ait Nito? Are the river crossings in the Tessaout still there? It's not easy to navigate with a loaded tandem... especially if the river level is high due to this year's heavy snowmelt!

Hi, right now, 28 km from Yasothon, there's a grand festival after the rice harvest. Puffed rice grains are strung on threads, forming curtain-like structures about 10 meters high—it's really impressive! So beautiful and unique. The crowd is huge, and there's not a single foreigner except for us. A must-see. Absolutely.

Bonjour tout le monde, j'ai changé de vélo de voyage l'année dernière, et ma nouvelle monture possède un cadre sloping. C'est à dire, que le tube horizontal est plus bas côté selle, que côté cintre. Ceci, je ne l'avais pas prévu. Résultat, je ne peux pas mettre un bidon 750ml sur la partie tube de selle, car ça touche en haut. Donc, je me demandais si certains ont déjà utilisé un porte bidon double, sur le tube diagonal ? Quelque chose comme ceci :



Je crains que mes pieds ne tapent dans les bidons. Je ne trouve aucuns témoignages d'utilisateurs. Merci, prenez soin de vous.

Nous partons ...en principe 🙂..dans une dizaine de jours au Japon et notre séjour prévoit 4 jours à Kyoto. Nous souhaiterions profiter d'une journée pour aller à Hirohsima Cela vous parait il judicieux ? L'aller retour en une journée est il suffisant pour " voir" ..Je ne dis pas visiter..ce haut lieu tragique de notre histoire.. Ou est-ce vraiment trop court , et vaut il mieux consacrer entièrement ces 4 jours à Kyoto ?( qui avec les arrivées départ ne seront surement pas 4 jours pleins !) je vous remercie de votre point de vue qui nous aidera à organiser notre séjour dans les meilleures conditions. Bonjour aux overlanders vers l'Afrique de l'Est et Australe Notre prochain grand voyage avec notre 4x4 cellule nous conduira à partir d'août 2020 de Djibouti à la Namibie en 4 mois. (Nous le poursuivrons ensuite en 2021 et 2022) Notre Hilux cellule Azalaï étant un peu haut, nous allons devoir l'expédier dans un container 40 pieds High cube que nous n'utiliserons qu'à moitié. Nous cherchons donc à partager ce container avec un autre véhicule. Nous souhaitons expédier le 4x4 fin juillet début août afin d'initier notre voyage depuis Djibouti tout début septembre. Nous avons déjà des cotations sérieuses de transporteurs mais sommes aussi à la recherche d'informations de la part d'équipages qui auraient déjà fait cette traversée récemment. Nous sommes également intéressés par toutes informations pratiques et touristiques sur cette descente de l'Afrique des grands lacs. Merci beaucoup. Bernard et Fafa
