Cost and booking ferry tickets Spain-Morocco
by Kaminour · 2026-05-21 · 2 replies
I’d like to drive to Morocco from Paris via Spain. I was really surprised to see the ferry crossing prices—around 500 €—but especially the crossing time (about 1 hour). Normally, I pay 3000 € to go to Tunisia from Genoa, but that’s for a 24-hour crossing. My question: is it cheaper to buy the ticket on the spot, as some Moroccans have advised me? Though I’ve also heard the opposite. What do you think, considering I need to get to Tétouan around July 17th and return from Tangier around August 4th? Thanks in advance
3 retirees looking for 1 or 2 people for a month-long Patagonia road trip
by Cramnibul · 2026-03-15 · 6 replies
We’re currently three retirees (one man and a couple) looking for one or two people to join us on a road trip through Patagonia by car.

Starting from Concepción in Chile, we’ll head to San Carlos de Bariloche (a possible meet-up point) in Argentina to reach Cabo Vírgenes. Then we’ll return via Route 40, with detours on the Chilean side (Torres del Paine, Lake General Carrera, Coyhaique).

We’ll pass by the Perito Moreno Glacier, Laguna del Desierto, Perito Moreno Park at the foot of San Lorenzo, Jeinemeni Park, Los Alerces Park, and more. A few hikes are planned.

Dates: November 6 to December 15, from Concepción back to Concepción.

Feel free to get in touch! Marc

From Nicaragua to Honduras and El Salvador: Where to Cross the Borders?
by Deffunk · 2025-12-10 · 5 replies
Hi there, after my trip to Nicaragua in January, I’m planning to visit Honduras and El Salvador during the same journey. Can anyone tell me where to cross the border from Nicaragua to Honduras by bus? Is it doable? Safe? And most importantly, what’s a good route to take and what’s worth seeing in Honduras in a safe way?

Is it better to travel with a group (through an agency) or is solo travel no problem?

P.S.: And for El Salvador, same question—what’s a good route and what’s generally worth seeing? Is it better to start in the south (El Salvador) and then head north to Honduras before continuing to Guatemala, or...?

Thanks for the tips!
Local recommendations for discovering Prague and the Czech Republic

-Hi everyone, my brother and I will be traveling between May and June to explore Prague and the Czech Republic in general. -We're looking for locals to help us out—what to do, what not to do, where to go, what to visit, and group outings. -Basically, we need some guidance. Unfortunately, we don’t speak the local language or English well (or at all), so if you speak French, you’re very welcome to help!

Best time to book flight tickets to Seville
by JPaul92 · 2025-11-10 · 47 replies
Hi everyone,

Does anyone have an idea about how flight ticket prices drop for a given destination? (Excluding Ryanair, of course.)

We need to leave for Seville on December 27th. Generally, airlines launch trips on a specific date with a high price to start filling the plane. As the departure date gets closer, the airline tries to fill the plane and lowers its prices, so the ticket price becomes reasonable again.

Example: Right now, for a trip in about 10 days, the average round-trip ticket price is usually around 200 €. Currently, the round-trip ticket price for December 27th is 450 €.

If any of you have more precise info on this topic (for example, if the price drops 15 days before departure), thanks in advance for your input. Jean Paul
KERALA November/December 2025
by Bernache01 · 2025-08-24 · 3 replies
Hi there, I’m planning a trip to Kerala at the end of the year. Just to clarify, I’ve been before and know India pretty well overall. I’ll be arriving either in Mumbai or Bangalore and making my way down to the far south using local transport (trains, buses…). Between cultural visits, I love enjoying the ocean and getting massages. I’m looking for independent travelers who can handle things on their own a bit (ideas for routes…). Guesthouses are my preference since they’re way more friendly than hotels, or simple and nice hotels. A chill trip, going with the flow. See you soon, Bernie

Visa application at the French consulate in Egypt
by Khad21 · 2025-07-23 · 7 replies
Hi there,

I need some help—I’d like to bring an Egyptian friend to France, but booking an appointment for the visa on the TLS site is impossible! Visa applications usually go through the TLScontact center, which is authorized by the French Consulate General in Cairo. You’re supposed to book an appointment via their platform, but I’ve been trying for weeks with no luck. Still no available slots!! GETTING AN APPOINTMENT ON THE TLS SITE IS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! What can I do? Do you have any other suggestions, please?

Thanks for your attention and help,

United States: Sharp Drop in Travel Bookings for April 2025
by VoyageForum · 2025-05-05 · 1 reply
According to a monthly travel sales barometer, bookings to the United States dropped by 32% in April 2025 compared to the previous year, pushing the country down to 18th place among the most popular destinations, from 11th place the year before.

This decline is part of an overall drop in travel sales, with a 7.6% decrease across all destinations.

Despite airfare promotions and a favorable exchange rate for French travelers, the U.S. is struggling to attract visitors, possibly due to political considerations.

Meanwhile, destinations like Italy (+12%) and Tunisia (+3.7%) saw an increase in bookings.

Looking for the lost faces of Yaoundé
by Bielecphilip · 2025-04-29 · 0 replies
Hello, I lived in Yaoundé from December 1965 to June 1971 full-time, then I only returned for the long holidays until 1975. I was at the downtown school and then at Lycée Général Leclerc from 6th to 9th grade. I’m looking for people who were my age back then. I’d like to write a book about that special time in my life. Here are a few names: Philippe Bourigan Brigitte Bourigan Roland Cauvet Serge Djamkepo Marie-Françoise Prudent, who worked with my mother at the French mission for aid and cooperation Brigitte Botela, with whom I danced my first slow dance Francis Derozario (former Air France pilot) Thierry Pakis, who had a jewelry shop Jean-Michel Blondel, whose father was a gendarme Marina (I no longer have her last name) Brigitte, who lived near Aix-en-Provence François, who had a Suzuki and so many others

Mediterranean Bike Tour: Crossing Algeria, Egypt, and Libya
by GregorVelo · 2025-02-03 · 5 replies
Hi everyone,

I’m planning to bike around the Mediterranean. I’m supposed to go through North Africa, but it seems a bit complicated. Visas and travel in Algeria and Egypt only work if you book a hotel (no nights spent outside?). Libya is generally very unclear, and it seems you can only travel there with a local guide (which doesn’t exist for bike trips). If necessary, I’d skip Libya, but neither a bus ride nor a boat detour seems possible to enter Egypt.

Does anyone have tips on how to get around these issues and secure a visa?

Thanks for any advice!
7-day itinerary in Morocco, starting from Agadir
by Lagoonsblue5 · 2025-02-03 · 8 replies
Hi there,

I’m heading to Morocco in early September for a week, and I could use some advice on an itinerary. I’ll be renting a car, and I generally like pretty packed itineraries. That said, is this one manageable, or is it TOO packed—maybe even unworkable? I usually like to hit the road by 6 AM.

Are there any stops that are way too rushed? Any suggestions for the route or places to see along the way?

Thanks to anyone who replies! :)

Best,

Day 1 Agadir → Taroudant Taroudant → Ait Benhaddou Day 2 Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate Ouarzazate → Zagora, overnight in the desert (is it better to stop and take a tour in Zagora, or keep going to M’Hamid?)

Day 3 Desert excursion, then head to Skoura

Day 4 Skoura → Ouzoud

Day 5 Ouzoud → Marrakech

Day 6 Marrakech → Essaouira

Day 7 Essaouira → Agadir

Thanks!

Your thoughts on China Southern?

Hi there,

Looking for a female travel companion for Ecuador in September 2025 or June 2026

Hi there, I’m planning a trip to Ecuador in September 2025 or June 2026 and I’m looking for a female travel companion—someone friendly, easygoing, who doesn’t snore 😉 and who I could meet before making any final travel plans. Since it’s far from Europe, I usually go for organized trips for convenience and safety. We’ll see depending on any interest... I love pre-Columbian sites, nature, architecture, museums, and trying local food... Hopefully, see you soon 🙂
