Best times to visit

While winter can feel a bit chilly (though it’s relative), the climate isn’t really a constraint for visiting Gibraltar. However, crowds—and the prices that come with them—can ruin your stay, especially in July and August. The same goes for the arrival of massive cruise ships in the port, bringing thousands of passengers. In short, it’s best to opt for the shoulder seasons: from March to the end of June and from September to November.

Overview

Gibraltar’s appeal lies more in its location than in the actual sights within the city. A good half-day is usually enough to explore the territory. It can even be seen more as an excursion than a stopover during a trip through southern Spain—especially if you want to keep costs down.
