Tourism

Unique in its kind, the country offers, despite recurring tensions, a highly nationalist policy that is far from unanimous, and a context that is not always easy, all the ingredients of a holiday destination with a rich cultural heritage, stunning natural sites, and beaches spread across two seas.

Each year, Israel welcomes many visitors (4.121 million, generating over 5 € billion in revenue in 2018), with attendance fluctuating slightly depending on current events or the situation at the time. Many visitors come for religious or affinity reasons. Among them, Americans are by far the most numerous (nearly one in four visitors), followed by the French (346,000 in 2018), Russians, Germans, British, Ukrainians, Italians, and more recently, the Chinese, who have entered the top 10 of visitors.
