Independent Travel

With the exception of the southeastern part of the country, which borders Syria and Iraq and is directly affected by the latent Turkish-Kurdish conflict, Turkey is not a particularly challenging destination and is well-suited for beginner travelers. That said, given the country's recent developments and current events, it’s wise to stay informed if you plan to venture off the beaten path and to follow basic safety precautions in any case.

Organized Travel

All-Inclusive

Like many Mediterranean countries, Turkey has a large number of all-inclusive resorts along its coastline, particularly in regions like Antalya or Bodrum. These are widely marketed through travel agencies, with prices that remain attractive, especially outside peak seasons.

Interestingly, this package (flight + hotel + often meals) can also be of financial interest to independent travelers, at least for short stays. In fact, it’s not uncommon to find offers priced the same as—or even cheaper than—a standalone flight to the destination. So, it may be worth considering, even if you limit the "stay" aspect to a minimum and explore the region on your own afterward.
