Geography and Environment of the Caribbean
Geography
Climate by Region and Season
The Caribbean has a tropical climate characterized by nearly constant temperatures year-round, with average highs around 30°C and lows around 20°C. All islands also have a dry season and a rainy season. The latter can often be challenging, as the heat is compounded by humidity, making the air feel muggy. Many islands are also prone to hurricanes (typically between June and November), which can sometimes be devastating. In any case, the dry season remains the ideal time to visit the Caribbean, even though it’s also peak tourist season.
