Nature-Adventure

A good part of the coastline, especially the northern part of Martinique, offers quite beautiful nature and pleasant landscapes. However, the island isn’t really an adventure destination, even though you can do canyoning or one or two "spectacular" treks there.

Culture

The island is a place where different races and origins have long been blending. This is what creates the Martinican identity, which you can discover in everyday life or during festivals and celebrations, rather than through monuments, museums, or material traces of history, which are few in the department.

Relaxation-Holidays

Martinique is a top destination for beach tourism in the Caribbean. You can enjoy the magnificent white-sand beaches in the south as well as the volcanic beaches in the north. In short, fans of beach resorts and seaside relaxation should find what they’re looking for, even if the inland areas also have plenty to discover.

Independent Travel

Martinique is a very easy destination for independent travel, perfect for beginner travelers. That said, backpacking isn’t necessarily the most common or appreciated style of travel there.

Organized and All-Inclusive

Martinique is widely featured in travel agencies, including regular promotions, but for very specific offerings. You’ll mostly find all-inclusive packages or "flight + accommodation" deals, as well as cruises departing from or stopping on the island. Beyond that, there are few other types of services.
