Flying to Saint Lucia
General Information
Despite its small size, Saint Lucia has two airports: one in the north near the capital (G.F.L. Charles Airport) and another at the southern tip (Hewanorra International Airport), located in the municipality of Vieux Fort. A former British military base, Hewanorra handles large aircraft and long-haul flights, while the smaller Charles Airport only receives small planes from neighboring islands. In total, Saint Lucia is connected to around thirty destinations across the Caribbean, North America, and occasionally Europe.
Types of Flights
Local Airlines
Saint Lucia has no national airline.
Charter, Scheduled, and Low-Cost Flights
As an English-speaking tourist destination, the island receives not only scheduled flights but also a significant amount of charter traffic, primarily from the United States, Canada, England (and Frankfurt). Seasonal flights are also available with local carriers from Martinique and Guadeloupe, as well as many other islands in the region.
