Accommodation in Saint Lucia
Location Map of Saint Lucia
Overview of the Offer
Accommodation in Saint Lucia is largely made up of large hotels, establishments of a certain standard—many of which are all-inclusive—as well as what are called "boutique hotels," which are small hotels with stylish or sophisticated decor. As is always the case on small islands, the best solution is to choose a single base for your entire stay.
The northern part, the most tourist-heavy area around Rodney Bay, and the southwest to a lesser extent, host most of the options. Like the island itself, hotels—apart from a few guest houses—as well as villa rentals require a certain budget, which increases by 20 to 30% in high season. It is essential to always clarify whether the listed rates include government taxes.
Hotels and All-Inclusive Resorts
Luxury hotels, all-inclusive resorts, and boutique hotels make up the vast majority of the island’s accommodation. High-end or upscale options primarily cater to North American visitors, who represent the largest tourist contingent on the island, and come with matching prices. In short, nightly rates rarely drop below $150 USD, which strongly encourages opting for weekly packages or bundles that include other services when available.
Guest House
Among all these mid-to-high-end establishments, you can still find a few relatively affordable guest houses, roughly in the $50–100 USD range for a double room. These are primarily located in the capital and especially in the southern part of the island, which attracts far fewer visitors.
Apartments and Villas
In the same price range as the large hotels, you’ll find villa or apartment rentals of a certain standard, with similarly high prices—at least $150 USD per night.
Which Accommodation to Choose?
If you haven’t opted for a weekly all-inclusive package, the best bet is to find a small guest house with a roughly affordable rate.
