Types of Trips to Costa Rica

Nature-Adventure
It's no surprise the country is nicknamed the "eco-tourism paradise"! Over 6% of the world's biodiversity is found here, and a quarter of its territory is covered by one of its countless national parks or nature reserves. In short, visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to discovering Costa Rican nature in all its splendour and diversity. The same goes for all nature-sports or "adventure" activities.
Culture
While Costa Rica is a top eco-tourism destination, its "cultural side" is much more limited. Here, there are few pre-Columbian ruins, very few colonial buildings or towns, no colourful markets like in Guatemala, and not much in the way of strong traditions among the population—though some regional specificities can be found, particularly on the Caribbean side.
Relaxation-Holidays
For relaxation and holidays, the country offers its many Pacific beaches and "resorts," where you can choose between all-inclusive stays or lively seaside towns built around surfing. For tranquillity in the heart of nature or the jungle, several "eco-lodges" will delight enthusiasts.
Independent Travel
Costa Rica is an easy country to travel in, requiring little experience, with well-established tourism (perhaps even a bit too much...), good infrastructure, and a wide variety of places and activities. It’s ideal for those looking to start exploring Central or even Latin America, including families.
Organised and All-Inclusive
Though French visitors are far fewer than North Americans, many French travel agencies have added the destination to their programmes, offering eco-tourism, nature-sports, tailor-made trips, and discovery circuits. In short, you’ll easily find the various services and packages available in the country. As for the all-inclusive resorts on the northwest Pacific coast, they’re primarily marketed to the North American market.

Gay and Lesbian
Though the Church is quite present in Costa Rican society, which is rather conservative, it remains tolerant. There are various "gay-friendly" spots in the capital and major tourist areas.
Disability Access
Costa Rican hotels, restaurants, museums, public buildings, and access to some parks are generally designed for wheelchair users. However, public transport may not always be accessible.
