Major Highlights
Nature and Adventure
From the Andean heights to the jungles of Amazon Rainforest, via the volcanoes of the cordilleras or the countless national parks and nature reserves, South America offers a superb and diverse sample of wild nature. Almost everywhere, you can enjoy it to the fullest, with a wide range of nature and adventure activities—trekking being the first among them.
Culture
This part of the American continent is also a land of culture. It is rich in pre-Columbian sites (starting in Peru), and colonial-era testimonies are still numerous throughout. Additionally, specific local cultures and traditions remain very much alive, particularly in the Andean countries.
Relaxation and Vacation
Latin America is not the Caribbean, and exclusive "relaxation-vacation" or all-inclusive stays are relatively limited, though each country with a coastline generally offers a few beach resorts. Overall, the coastline stretching from the north of Argentina to the Brazilian coast, via (especially) Uruguay, offers the best opportunities in this regard.
