Languages
Beyond English, which is the official language, the most commonly spoken language among the population is Llanito. Unique to Gibraltar, Llanito is a mix of English and Spanish, with some Maltese and Hebrew expressions, making it helpful to have some knowledge of both languages to understand it at least a little. Logically, due to its proximity to Spain, Spanish is also widely spoken in Gibraltar. French is understood by a number of people.

Precautions
Whether in terms of health or safety, the "Rock" does not present any particular issues. Just be mindful of pickpockets, as in any tourist area.
