Health

No vaccinations are mandatory to enter the country, though it is still advisable to be up to date with your "basic vaccinations."

Local Healthcare Facilities

Local infrastructure is excellent. For healthcare, nationals of the European Economic Area must present their European Health Insurance Card (formerly form E-111), which guarantees the same rights to everyone—otherwise, they will have to pay their medical expenses. Other visitors must rely on their insurance or pay the full cost of care.

Safety

Crime and Delinquency

The Netherlands is a very safe destination, though like anywhere else, it has minor delinquency targeting tourists, particularly pickpocketing. However, with basic precautions and a bit of common sense, there is no risk. Note that when it comes to buying/consuming (light) drugs, it is strongly recommended to stick to coffee shops.

Whether it’s scams, "tourist" harassment, socio-political risks, climate-related issues, or animal hazards, there is nothing particular to fear.
