Nature-Adventure

Like other Scandinavian countries, if not even more so, Norway is a nature destination par excellence, with an often spectacular environment, especially when it comes to fjords, the midnight sun, or the northern lights. Unique! And since the country also offers a wide range of outdoor activities in both summer and winter, it truly has everything to attract and delight nature-adventure travellers.

Culture

While its "historical and cultural" heritage may be less extensive than that of many other European countries, Norway still has plenty to offer. Some of its cities, such as Bergen, Oslo, or others in the southern region, preserve various traces of their past, including from the medieval era. Additionally, there are many interesting museums, such as those in the capital, as well as more typical features like the famous (28) *stavkirkes* of Norway—stunning wooden churches dating back to the Middle Ages.

Relaxation-Holidays

Due to its climate, Norway isn’t necessarily a "relaxation-holiday" destination in the usual sense. This is confirmed every year by a large portion of the population, who prefer to migrate toward "sun destinations." Nevertheless, the Norwegian countryside, mountains, and coastline do have their own holiday charm...

Independent Travel

Norway is an easy destination for independent travel, perfect for beginner travellers, and poses no major problems. Of course, a minimum of precautions and information is still necessary when venturing into nature, especially in winter or in the vast northern spaces.

Organised Travel

While some "classic" organised trips are available through certain travel agencies, Norway is primarily sold as customised tours or complete packages for activities that aren’t always easy or cost-effective to do on your own. Thus, you’ll mostly find services related to trekking, winter activities like skiing in all its forms or dog sledding, as well as the famous Coastal Express, which has become a classic in some tour operators’ programmes.
