Entry Requirements and Visa for Norway
FR

People

For travel with a tourist purpose.

For French Citizens

A valid national identity card or passport is sufficient for a stay of up to three months. After that, a residence permit is technically required. That said, Norway is part of the Schengen Area and is therefore theoretically border-control-free when arriving from another member country.

For information, Norwegian law regulates the import of alcohol and cigarettes, limiting quantities or even prohibiting import for those under 18 or 20.

Other Nationalities

The same applies to Canadians, Swiss nationals, citizens of the European Union, and a few other nationalities. For other visitors, a Schengen visa valid for the 26 member states is required for a tourist stay of less than three months.

Vehicles

No special requirements for vehicles already circulating within the Schengen Area.
