Nature-Adventure
While you sometimes have to travel long distances for the landscape to truly change, Spain offers a fairly interesting environment that allows you to experience both the arid zones of the centre and the mountainous massifs of the Pyrenees or the Sierra, not to mention the hundreds of kilometres of coastline (sometimes a bit overdeveloped) spread across two sea fronts. There’s a certain diversity (and outdoor activities available), even if the settings or landscapes don’t always reach the "unforgettable" level found in other countries.
Culture
A land of history, cultures, and traditions that remain very strong (such as during Holy Week), Spain is also one of the top countries in the world for UNESCO-listed heritage. In short, between museums, ancient sites, architectural landmarks, and traditional festivals, there’s plenty to delight cultural travellers.
Relaxation-Holidays
"Costa Brava", "Costa Daurada", "Costa del Sol", and many others... For decades, beach relaxation holidays have been one of the country’s strengths. So, the locations and infrastructure are there, and whether it’s all-inclusive or otherwise, on the Mediterranean or even the Atlantic side, there’s plenty of choice... and crowds in the summer season. As for the hinterland, it’s mainly the foothills of the Pyrenees and other mountain ranges that attract those seeking tranquillity, rather than the rest of the country, which can be scorching in summer.
Independent Travel
Like the rest of Europe, Spain is a very easy destination for independent travel.
Organised Travel
All-Inclusive
As a highly popular beach destination, all-inclusive resorts exist in Spain, mostly along the Mediterranean coast, in the Balearic Islands, and occasionally on the southern Atlantic coast. While the formula attracts a lot of British, German, or Scandinavian visitors, it’s worth checking out these offers, especially during promotions. In fact, the prices can sometimes be very appealing.
