Health and Safety in Bulgaria
Official Recommendations
In France, both for individuals and professionals, the "travel advice" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding precautions for each country has legal value. A similar online travel advice system exists in several countries:
Health
No vaccinations are mandatory to enter the country, though it is still advisable to be up to date with your "basic vaccines."
Illnesses and Hygiene
Nothing particularly noteworthy to report, except that it is still preferable to wash your hands regularly and avoid dishes or foods that do not guarantee freshness. As for tap water, it is drinkable, but those with sensitive stomachs may prefer bottled water with sealed caps.
Local Healthcare Facilities
Local healthcare facilities are fairly average, especially for more serious conditions. For medical care, nationals of European Economic Area countries must present their European Health Insurance Card (formerly E-111 form), which guarantees the same rights to everyone—otherwise, they may have to pay their medical expenses. Other visitors will need to rely on their insurance or pay the fees.
Safety
Crime and Delinquency
Bulgaria is a relatively safe destination, though like anywhere else—especially in tourist areas—there is some petty crime, including pickpocketing and vehicle break-ins. However, with basic precautions and common sense, there is no real risk.
Tourist Scams
Not much to report, except for occasional attempts at police "shakedowns" targeting foreign drivers, or some unscrupulous exchange bureaus (which is why it’s best to use banks or ATMs).
Socio-Political Risks
Nothing in particular.

Foreign Consulates in Bulgaria
If you encounter problems while traveling abroad, your country’s consular services can assist you. Additionally, if you are a European Union national and your country is not represented, you can contact any other EU member state’s consulate.
