Climate Overview

Barbados has a pleasant climate; the heat is never excessive, with daytime temperatures year-round ranging between 29 and 31°C and nighttime temperatures between 21 and 23°C. Additionally, the trade winds make the atmosphere more comfortable.

The island has two distinct seasons with brief "intermediate" periods. The dry season runs from late December/early January to May. This is the most pleasant time to visit, with fine weather and just a few occasional showers. In contrast, the wet season brings oppressive heat when the trade winds aren’t blowing and, above all, frequent afternoon rains that fall more on the island’s east side than the west. This period, from June to November, is the least favorable for visiting, especially since it’s also hurricane season, which can occasionally affect the island (though it’s less exposed than others), particularly between August and October.

Best Climate Period for Barbados

The period from January to early May is ideal if you want to avoid too much rain and the occasional mugginess that can follow.
