Health and Safety in Barbados
Official Recommendations
In France, both for individuals and professionals, the "travel advice" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding precautions for each country has legal value. A similar online travel advice system exists in several countries:
Health
No vaccinations are mandatory to enter the country, though it is still best to be up to date with your "basic vaccines."
Illnesses
Barbados does not pose any major health risks. Dengue fever and, more recently, chikungunya, spread by certain mosquitoes, are present. To protect yourself, the best approach is to use a good repellent, cover your arms and legs at dusk when mosquitoes are most active, and bring an impregnated mosquito net if you are sleeping in a place without air conditioning or airflow.
Hygiene
There are also few risks here. Just remember to stay hydrated, protect yourself from the sun during the hottest periods, and wash your hands regularly.

Safety
Crime and Delinquency
While not widespread, (petty) crime has been on the rise in recent years. There is a risk of burglaries, theft, and, rarely, assaults, though with basic common sense and precautions (such as avoiding deserted beaches and isolated areas at night), you can stay safe.
Scams and "Tourist" Harassment
There is little of note, except for a few Rastafarians or ganja dealers who can sometimes be a bit pushy. Note that possession or consumption of drugs is strictly enforced by local authorities.
Socio-Political Risks
Nothing to report.
Climate, Nature, and Animals
Few risks, except that it is best to be very careful when swimming, especially on the east coast, due to (very) strong currents that can occur in certain areas.
