Nature-Adventure

The Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and its islands, 16 national parks and 14 nature reserves including marine ones: the country is a nature-adventure destination par excellence. Whether on safaris or hikes, the experience remains unforgettable due to the biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes.

Culture

Cultural tourism has gradually developed in Tanzania over time. It is thus possible to meet some local populations such as the "famous" Maasai to learn more about their traditions, diet, village life, and so on. You may or may not like the sometimes slightly overdone aspect of the experience...

Beyond the encounters you can have in the country, Tanzania also boasts built heritage from different eras, styles, or origins. The island of Pemba and especially Zanzibar offer various ruins and beautiful architecture, which has earned the archipelago’s capital a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list for its old Stone Town quarters. On the mainland, numerous remnants of the German colonial period are still visible, though in varying states of preservation. Additionally, there is much older heritage, such as Kondoa and its prehistoric rock art sites nestled in nearly 200 UNESCO-listed caves.

Relaxation-Holidays

Tanzania has magnificent beaches, and beach tourism has developed in a few spots, primarily on the island of Zanzibar, which is home to several all-inclusive or luxury establishments. On the mainland, you can also find some high-end hotels near beautiful coral-sand beaches.

Independent Travel

Tanzania is a destination for beginner or slightly experienced travellers, given the lack of infrastructure in some regions and the health and safety precautions required.

Organised and All-Inclusive

Beyond tailor-made services, many agencies offer Tanzania primarily for safari packages, all-inclusive beach stays (mainly on Zanzibar), or combinations of the two, often resulting in 10 to 15 days in the country. Of course, the land of Kilimanjaro is also featured by local and international trekking specialists.
