Best Times to Visit Tanzania
Finding the best time to visit involves balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices on the ground or for getting there.
Generally, the dry season is the best—or at least the easiest—time to visit Tanzania, from June through October. Temperatures are more pleasant, everything is accessible, and you can just as easily do the Kilimanjaro, enjoy the beaches, and explore the parks where wildlife is easier to spot near rivers and water sources. The "short rainy season" in November–December, and its extension into early January, is also a great time for the northern parks, particularly for the famous wildebeest migrations in the Serengeti. Logically, these are also the busiest periods (though usually "manageable"), with prices to match.
