Population

A vast country with few people, Namibia is one of the least densely populated places in the world, with just over 2 inhabitants per km². It has only three cities with more than 50,000 residents. In terms of origins, over 85% of Namibians are Black (Ovambo, Herero, Bushmen, etc.), with the remainder split equally between Whites (primarily of German or Afrikaner descent) and people of mixed race.

In the 19th century, Namibia was a land of missionaries, and today the country is 80-90% Protestant, primarily Lutheran. Indigenous religions make up the rest.
