Baggage and equipment to bring

Light clothing will be sufficient for the daytime, but much warmer items will be needed for evenings and nights, which can be freezing in certain places or at certain times of year. Also bring protection against mosquitoes, the sun, dust, and rain in season. As always, travel light.

For safaris, plan comfortable, flexible clothing that covers the whole body in neutral colours to avoid being "spotted" too easily by animals. Other useful equipment includes a headlamp (especially if camping), binoculars, and of course good walking shoes. However, there’s no need to bring your own camping gear, as local safari agencies provide everything you need. On another note, make sure to bring your own first-aid kit and enough medication.
