Climate and Weather in Antigua and Barbuda
Climate Overview
Antigua and Barbuda have a relatively mild and fairly dry tropical climate, like other islands in the region, thanks in particular to the trade winds blowing from the northeast. Average monthly temperatures range from 23 to 30°C, with July to October being the hottest and December to February the coolest.
Rainfall is not very heavy compared to many other islands, with less than 1,000 mm per year. The wettest period is September to November (during the "rainy season"), when cyclones can hit the coasts. In contrast, the start of the year is the driest. Generally, the east coasts (Atlantic) are the most exposed to bad weather, while the west coasts (Caribbean) are more sheltered.
