Climate and Weather in the British Virgin Islands
Climate Overview
The British Virgin Islands have a warm, humid tropical climate tempered by sea breezes. It is characterized by a rainy season in May, followed by a brief lull, then another from August to November, and a dry season running from December to March or early April. Average temperatures range between 25 and 30°C year-round, though humidity can make the rainy season feel oppressive, particularly from August to November, which is the wettest period. The archipelago may also experience hurricanes between June and November.
Best Time to Visit for Weather
As with many tropical destinations, it’s best to avoid the rainy and hurricane season. The ideal time to visit is from December to early April, or even June to early July, when rainfall is lighter than in May or the following months.
