Getting Around the British Virgin Islands
Between the Islands
You can travel from one island to another by plane and/or boat, knowing that most connections go through or transit via the main island of Tortola and its Beef Island airport.
By Plane
The three main islands of the archipelago (Tortola, Anegada, Virgin Gorda) have an airport/airstrip and can be connected by scheduled flights and especially on-demand flights with several small airlines. Logically, Tortola has the most options. Expect roughly $70 one-way or $100 round-trip from Tortola to Anegada, and slightly less to Virgin Gorda.
By Boat
On Tortola
The island covers 59.2 km² and has 25,000 inhabitants. It is the largest and most populated island in the archipelago.

Other Islands
Anegada
The island covers 38.6 km² (the second largest in the archipelago) and has around 300 inhabitants.
Jost Van Dyke
The island covers 8.3 km² and has around 300 inhabitants.
Southern Islands
These small islands are either uninhabited or private (owned by individuals or hotel complexes), so options for getting there and moving around are limited. They are generally explored on foot.
Virgin Gorda
The island covers 21.2 km² and has 3,900 inhabitants.
