Climate and Weather in Saint Kitts and Nevis
Climate Overview
The archipelago has a relatively mild and fairly dry tropical climate, like other islands in the region, thanks in particular to the trade winds blowing from the northeast. Average monthly temperatures range from 24 to 31°C, with July to October being the hottest period and December to April the coolest. Rainfall is most common between July and November, which is also (from August to the end of October) the hurricane season, when storms can sometimes be destructive. In contrast, the start of the year is the driest. Generally, the east coasts (Atlantic) are the most exposed to bad weather, while the west coasts (Caribbean) are more sheltered.
