Finding the best time to visit means balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices, both on the ground and for getting there.
Climatically, the period from late December to late April or early May is ideal if you want to avoid too much rain, occasional stifling heat, or hurricanes that can reach the island. That said, Christmas to early January is also peak season, with higher prices and crowds. Taking everything into account, February–March and especially April–early May or early December offer the best guarantees all around.
