Climate and Weather in Trinidad and Tobago
Climate Overview
Like the rest of the region, Trinidad and Tobago has a tropical climate characterized by nearly constant temperatures year-round, with average highs around 30°C and lows around 20°C. Additionally, the trade winds make the heat bearable, though during the rainy season the atmosphere can become quite humid when these winds are sometimes absent.
Generally, rainfall is concentrated between June and early December, coming in the form of brief, intense showers. These are heavier on the northern and eastern coasts of both islands. This hot, humid rainy season is not the best time to visit. The archipelago is not affected by cyclones.
Best Time to Visit Trinidad and Tobago
As always, the dry season (even if it rains on some days), roughly from January to May, is the best time to visit in terms of climate. This avoids the mugginess and heavy, frequent showers of the rest of the year.
