Flying to Trinidad and Tobago
Location Map of Trinidad and Tobago
General Information
Both Trinidad and Tobago have their own airports. However, even though Tobago is the more tourist-focused of the two islands, Trinidad’s Piarco International Airport remains the busiest. It is ranked among the top 10 airports in the entire Caribbean and handles 2.5 million passengers per year—more than three times the traffic of Tobago’s Robinson International Airport.
That said, both airports offer a solid selection of direct routes, connecting to the rest of the Antilles, South America, Central America (including Panama), Canada, the USA, as well as England and Germany in Europe. Much of this is thanks to the national carrier, Caribbean Airlines (formerly BWIA), which remains the leading airline in the Caribbean.
Types of Flights
Local Airlines
Trinidad and Tobago has only one national carrier: Caribbean Airlines. Based at Piarco, it serves around a dozen cities in the Caribbean region, as well as four U.S. cities and Toronto, Canada.
